Ukrzaliznytsia trains to Przemyśl in Poland run via the Mostyska – Przemyśl railway border checkpoint, which is the main gateway to Poland for those traveling without a car via Lviv. From Polissia, it is most convenient to take a train to Lviv and change there for the train to Przemyśl.
Where the control takes place
- Ukrainian border control for Intercity+ trains from Kyiv takes place at Lviv station during an extended stop; for the Lviv – Przemyśl train, the government approved control directly inside the carriages on the Lviv – Mostyska-2 section.
- Polish passport and customs control takes place at Przemyśl Główny station, in the pavilion near the broad-gauge platforms. The EES biometric system operates here for those entering the Schengen area for the first time after April 2026.
Trains and tickets
Intercity+ trains from Kyiv and the Lviv – Przemyśl train run to Przemyśl; the current schedule and tickets are available on the Ukrzaliznytsia website and app, and it is best to buy them in advance. Ukrzaliznytsia recommends allowing two to two and a half hours for the transfer in Przemyśl.

Who can cross at Mostyska – Przemyśl, railway?

What documents do I need to drive to Poland?
A passport, driving licence, vehicle registration certificate, a Green Card for the car (without it you will not be let onto the Polish side) and medical insurance for entering the Schengen area. If the car is not yours, a power of attorney from the owner.
Why do queue figures differ between sources?
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine counts vehicles in front of the crossing on the Ukrainian side, the Polish Border Guard gives the approximate waiting time for entry to Ukraine on the Polish side, and the eCherha queue system only sees registered vehicles. These are different measures, so we show them separately, each with its update time.

Polish side: Straż Graniczna, the approximate waiting time for entry to Ukraine, updated up to 8 times a day. These are different measures, so we do not add them up, and next to every figure we show when it was updated. «Usually» and the tables come from our own measurements over the last 8 weeks, and «how long you waited» comes from drivers' reports on this page.
