As a result of a series of repeated attacks by enemy drones, the Ovruch electrical substation has been completely destroyed. Restoring power supply in the Ovruch hromada will take a significant amount of time.
This was announced by Ovruch Mayor Ivan Korud in an urgent address to residents.
Threat of prolonged blackout and restoration work
According to the head of the hromada, due to the large-scale destruction of a key energy infrastructure facility, residents should be prepared for a long power outage. Power engineers and relevant services are assessing the situation, but a quick restoration of electricity should not be expected.
At the same time, the mayor emphasized that if the power supply is temporarily restored, it does not mean that the aerial threat has passed.
Strict blackout requirements
Ivan Korud appealed to all residents, enterprise managers, and business owners to strictly follow light blackout requirements in the evening and nighttime hours:
- For enterprises and businesses: completely turn off external building lighting, facade illumination, signs, shop windows, and advertising structures;
- For the private sector: turn off yard lights, grounds lighting, and any light source that may be visible from outside or from the air.
“These are necessary security measures on which the protection of our hromada and human lives depend. In current conditions, every light that can be turned off must be turned off. I ask you to take this appeal with full responsibility,” stressed the Mayor of Ovruch.
The city authorities also once again urge citizens not to ignore air raid alerts and to immediately head to shelters.
