Enemy attack on Zhytomyr Region energy infrastructure: facility damaged, water restrictions introduced in local hromadas
In the evening, enemy forces launched a massive strike on an energy infrastructure facility in the Zhytomyr hromada. As a result of the hit, the Korostyshiv hromada was left without power, and emergency crews are assessing the scale of damage to the equipment.
This was reported by Vitalii Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration.
Course of the enemy attack
According to the air raid alert chronology, the attack by enemy jet UAVs began after 20:50. The movement of aerial targets was detected towards the suburbs of Zhytomyr and settlements across the region:
20:54–20:57 — UAV flight over Zarichany and Huyva towards the regional center. The first explosion was heard in Zhytomyr.
21:01 — repeated threats and explosions recorded in the area of Stanyshivka, Snihuri, and Holovenka.
21:03–21:08 — massive attack by jet UAVs on energy infrastructure, threat over Ozerne, and an air raid alert declared in Berdychiv District.
21:28 — movement of jet aerial targets recorded towards Malyn.
Electricity and water supply situation
Specialized repair crews are working at the scene of the strike. According to Vitalii Bunechko, experts are assessing the extent of damage to the equipment. The timeframe for restoring power supply will be known after the expert evaluation is complete.
In connection with the attack, measures are being taken in the Korostyshiv hromada in case of a prolonged blackout.
Specifically, if power supply is not restored by morning, the deployment of Invincibility Centers will begin in the hromada starting at 08:00 on Saturday, November 7.
Additionally, the municipal water utility company is forced to switch to generators. Water in the city will be supplied according to a schedule:
from 08:00 to 11:00;
from 19:00 to 22:00.
