The Stetsky Estate is a palace and park complex in the village of Velyki Mezhyrychi on the banks of the Stavy River, not far from Korets. The classicist palace, outbuildings, colonnaded galleries, old park with a pond, and the Church of Saint Anthony with the family crypt make it one of the most beautiful manors in Rivne Oblast.
From the Koretsky Castle to the Palace
The settlement was first mentioned in 1544. From 1559, it belonged to Prince Bohush Koretsky, who built a castle here, and his heir Yakym Koretsky fortified it with ramparts and walls. In 1650, the last of the Koretskys transferred the estate to Oleksandr Michal Lubomirski, and it was subsequently owned by other members of the Lubomirski family.
The estate acquired its most famous appearance under the Stetsky family. The palace was designed by the architect Domenico Merlini. The main entrance is decorated with a two-row Ionic portico with columns, and arc-shaped galleries connect the palace with the outbuildings.
What to See
The palace with galleries, the park with the remains of a botanical garden and a pond, servants' quarters, a stable, and the Church of Saint Anthony. Some buildings are in need of restoration, but the architectural ensemble remains well-defined.
