Autumn is a great time for predator fishing, particularly for perch. As the water temperature drops, the striped predator changes its holding spots, so anglers have to look for it in deeper areas with a moderate current.

Yurii Vozniuk shared his experience of autumn fishing, having set out with an ultralight spinning rod to the Kamianka River in Zhytomyr Region.
The fishing trip turned out to be short but productive. The main target was perch, which he managed to find and catch in various sizes. According to the angler, there were both tiny specimens and fish of a more pleasing size for a small river.

A feature of this fishing trip was that the perch mostly stayed at depth, choosing areas with a slow or moderate current.
Which lures the perch took
A small 1.5-inch Reins Aji Ringer Shad silicone lure worked best this time. This exact micro paddle-tail swimbait became the main lure of the fishing trip. For it, Yurii used a Decoy Mini Hook MG-1 #8 hook.
The angler notes that the selected hook suits such a small lure very well. A Favorite U1 FC fluorocarbon leader with a diameter of 0.185 mm served as the leader.

What Yurii Vozniuk fished with
For the trip, the angler assembled an ultralight setup designed to work with light lures:
Spinning rod — Favorite Blue Bird BB1-682SUL-S, length 2.04 m, casting weight 0.8–5 g;
reel — Shimano Vanford 1000;
braid — Duel Hardcore The One, diameter 0.09 mm, breaking strain 2.52 kg;
fluorocarbon — Favorite U1 FC, diameter 0.185 mm.
Such a setup allows working with small soft plastic lures and catching even small perch.

The fishing trip on the Kamianka River turned out to be a successful short outing with an ultralight spinning rod for Yurii Vozniuk. All the caught perch was returned to the water.
Yurii also published a video of this fishing trip on his YouTube channel.
For the angler, this autumn trip was another reason to enjoy nature and an opportunity to spend a few hours by his home river.
