Vilia is a river that flows from Podillia to Ostroh and empties into the Horyn near its northeastern outskirts. Shumsk and Ostroh stand on it, and near Ostroh, the Vilia is a popular spot for short kayaking trips.
What it looks like
The length of the Vilia is 77 kilometers, and its basin area exceeds 1,800 square kilometers. The river originates from a spring near the village of Pidlisne on the Podilian Upland and flows mainly to the northeast. The valley is trough-shaped, terraced, and one and a half to five kilometers wide. The riverbed is meandering, up to 28 meters wide and one to two meters deep.

Near Ostroh
The Vilia approaches Ostroh from the southeast. Nearby stand the Ostroh Castle, the Lutsk and Tatar Towers. In autumn, short trips are arranged near Ostroh: calm water, yellow leaves, and a view of the old town.
Fishing
The Vilia is shallow, with quiet reaches between riverbend curves. People fish here mainly from the bank in the reaches and near the mouth where the river flows into the Horyn. General fishing regulations apply.
